Shadowstorm Storm Chronicles #4Ed The bizarre murders were left unsolved Thirty years later the killer has returned and Raven Storm has been assigned to the case tasked to succeed where her father failed With two bodies on her hands and only a handful of cryptic clue. There is no doubt in my opinion that this series is getting better with each entry SK develops her characters slowly over time and introduces some new villains who fit into her alternate realityurban fantasy world without any stretch of suspension of disbelief reuired to enjoy any book from these genres What is uniue in this book is the dual narrative of Raven chasing the same monstrous villain that her father had died pursuing The second narrative takes the reader back in time to her father's story of that pursuit What makes it very interesting is that Raven's father's partner is now Raven's boss in the special crimes unit Knizley takes us deeper into the vampire world in which her vampire mother is the reigning ueen of the City of Chicago There is a battle a challenge to her authority which Raven must also deal with while she pursues the current monster Two things that I particularly love about this book are Raven is a damphyr that is the child of a human father and a vampire mother She has all the advantages of being a vampire without the need to avoid sunlight Damphyrs are called day walkers because of that gift I happen to love really good books featuring a damphyr as the lead character The other thing I love about Raven is that she just can't turn off her truly snarky humor She will crack wise even when it looks like she's about to die that is just before she kicks major buttI would love to reveal the surprise that comes at the end of this book but that would just be too much of a spoiler and it is such a shocker that I would never ruin the readers' pleasure upon discovering the surprise ending It certainly sets up the next volume in the series which I have just startedThe reader of this review may wonder why only four stars if I love the book so much It gets only four stars because so far SK has not offered anything truly new to this genre Pretty much every other damphyr book I have read before this series has already covered the powers and vampire politics and the kick butt snarky hud heroine So it gets four stars until something really uniue to set this series apart takes place I will say that the stunner at the end of this volume holds the potential to sueeze that fifth star out of this reviewerMake no mistake this book is a great read and without uestion the best in the series so far Do start at volume one though in order to understand all that is covered previously and is just part of the story background at this point Highly recommended

I don't know how it happened but I neesed when this one came out Now that I have read it I am stunned I was confused in the beginning with Mason And Frost but as I read It made sense Raven is awesome I love the trouble she tends to cause Always gettin poor Rupert mixed in with her shenanigans even though he is her partner and familiar They have each others back no matter what I think this story was grusome than the last three and i loved every action packed minute of it Storm and Rupert make a great team I did think they would end up togather this time but they each have their own loves One they will never part with is their friendship and partnership Things did get really intense as they work this case I loved all the action and suspense I cannot wait to read the next one

In the spring of 1984 just before his daughter's birth Detective Mason Storm began an investigation into the ritualistic slaying of seven women their bodies defiled and left covered in black rose petals The case ended with Storm suspend. 375 Stars I did not like the murder mystery as much as some of the other books However when it came to the paranormal aspects especially in the last 13 of the book it was a lot of fun Really big bad vamp and his gross minions made for some great action scenes I'm also happy to say I can finally put the lesfic tag on this book Happy Dance The romance is just starting but feelings were finally admitted to and they are dating so I'm a happy camper
