Sometimes our first love is also meant to be our last After being dumped by her fiancé Eleanor Carrington flees to Paris to help her self medicated mother While keeping her mom from popping pills like gummy bears Eleanor launches a new no strings attached life plan with absolutely NO falling in love whatsoever On her part at least because her self esteem could do with one or two Frenchmen g. 4 Second Chance Stars sometimes our first love is also meant to be our last You Turn should have been one of those predictable slightly cheesy romantic reads that threw in a little angst to mix things upand yet it wasn't It was unpredictable with some twists I never saw coming it was light on the angst without being boring or cheesy and it was romantic in a way that keeps you rooting for the couple throughout the entire book In short I really REALLY enjoyed this bookAfter first meeting Eleanor in No Reverse I have been impatiently waiting for her to finally get her HEA Having read both No Reverse and Fast Forward I can tell you that you can definitely read this as a standalone but I would recommend you read those two books anyway simply because they're fantasticFive years ago eighteen year old Eleanor fell in love with Zachary Murdoch III and he shattered her Two months ago Lenor's fiance of 4 years broke up with her to be with the love from his past Heartbroken Lenor runs to Paris to care for her recovering addict mother and to try to escape the heartbreak of her past She wants to move forward so the last thing she expects is the flesh and blood blast from her past I realize whatever I went through with Josh has been a stroll through Central Park on a sunny spring dayWhat the man opposite me put me through was like climbing Mount Everest Barefoot In a bikini You Turn is told in alternating flashbacks of present and the days of the past that led Lenor and Zach to first fall for each other and then for Zach to break her heart What I loved is that the author gives you a clear division with the past being told solely in Zach's POV and the present solely in Lenor's This allows the reader to not only understand the characters that much better it truly allows you to feel for the characters and the why's of what happened Zach never got over Lenor nor the way that things ended with them He wants this new chance to prove to her that he's no longer the damaged and broken boy from the past that turned to booze drugs and women for his comfort He's moved on and made something of himself being the owner of a sucessful Parisian club He has money and success but what he truly wants is her forgiveness He would love a chance for her heart but he knows that he will never deserve that again Spare me the word 'sorry' will youI don't believe in 'sorry' I believe in the truth and the truth is that you were the first friend I ever had This is not a book that is overly steamy or even steamy at all and even though that would usually bother me what I never hid my pervy ways This is nothing new I found that I loved the story and the second chance romance so much that I didn't even bat an eyelash at the lack of steamI fell for Zach hard in this book Having seen the past from his eyes and knowing what drove his actions and decisions then truly allowed me to understand him that much Seeing the way that he tried to atone in the present and his clear love for Lenor was justgahI don't even have the words It was emotional and lovely and at times broke even my poor black little heart I Was Never Your FriendI was the little girl who loved you from afar I was the woman who gave herself away for you and ended up losing a lot of who she wasThen allow me to give you back some of what I stole Seeing the Zach from the past he was definitely far from perfect But it also helps you understand the Zach of the present that much The author did a great job with characterization and showing the true growth of both these MCs My whole life I've looked up at him from afar or up close He has been my hero only to turn into a fallen one The romance between Zach and Lenor is a slow burn with a strong undercurrent of their chemistry It's constantly present even through their push and pull And while this romance is what I'd call steamy lite it definitely still had it's moments I want you to fuck me Now and on that desk of yours I want you to remember how good it is to be inside me each time you enter this room to work I want you to remember me I want you to remember what you lost and I want it to hurt It wasn't overly angsty yet it had it's share of turbulance What truly made this book were the incredibly endearing characters I loved the way the author portrayed Lenor through her struggle of losing her fiance Josh to another woman without having her come across as a vapid and selfish little rich girl I was already strongly invested in her character in the first two books and that only solidified for me hereThis was a beautiful and touching second chance romance that you won't be able to help but fall forIf you haven't yet discovered this author I strongly recommend you get acuaintedOn a side note I'm really hoping we get a book for Sam next I've been wanting one for him since Fast Forward ARC courtesy of author in exchange for an honest reviewFor reviews visit

CHARACTERS Ë You Turn (Second Chances, #3) º Sometimes our first love is also meant to be our last After being dumped by her fiancé Eleanor Carrington flees to Paris to help her self medicated mother While keeping her mom from popping pills like gummy bears Eleanor launches a new no strings attached life plan with absolutely NO falling iOing un peu crazy for herWhat she doesn’t need is for her first Grand Amour Zachary Murdoch to burst back into her life Whatever shit show she’s just been through was a stroll What Zach put her though was a climb up Mount Everest Barefoot In a bikiniNow a club owner in Paris Zach is intrigued by the troubled woman who was once the sweet girl he had to give up Offering a shoulder for her. I'm going to do a little summary of my thoughts of this book Here goesAfter reading No Reverse and being the greatest fan of Cassie and Josh’s story I could not resist reading this I was already somewhat familiar with Eleanor as she appeared previously in the first book instalment however I didn’t really like her then However this story gave me insight into Eleanor’s character her story from her view and it was a pleasure to experienceThere’s something about the way the second chance series is written the whole ‘love’ concept is uniue and presented in a fashion that makes it seem realistic It’s difficult not to become captivated by it It’s all related to relationships that have gone through the worst of things but have wrestled against the hands of time Eleanor and Zach go way back when they were mere kids but they never really saw each other back then in the light they see each other in now Eleanor may have but Zach was definitely the guy who had his own life issues to deal with Eventually they experienced very similar things as they grew and I imagine that is eventually what made them understand each other better in the end It’s always a case of ‘will it work will it not work’ with them because they’ve already been there They’re not really starting something new they’re just continuing something that had already been started a long while ago So it’s a dangerous path they decide to take because if it ends up not working then it has the capability of causing them destruction I highly recommend reading the first story of Cassie and Josh before picking this up although it can most definitely be read as a standalone I just feel the prior parts help set the scene better and also because ‘No Reverse’ is one of my favourite stories This is a lovely read and I’m glad to have had the chance to read this story
