Cute Very great to make kids aware of gluten sensitivity I myself have a gluten intolerance but I felt maybe they should have explained a little bit about what it means They gloss over it Very cute otherwise

I loved this book at first sight the cover has very bright colors and already looks like a book that many children would enjoy The story is about a young girl who is having a birthday party with all of her friends and decorating her house The one issue or not an issue is that she is gluten free so they have to look for a recipe that would taste good to everyone but would not include flour or anything that would make her stomach upset They find a cookie crumble cake and the party starts and all of the children are enjoying themselves until it is time to eat the cake One of the kids is gluten free too and thinks he cannot eat the cake and the young girl helps him understand that he is not alone It is a great book that shows true friendship and someone is never alone in their current situation It would be a great lesson to teach kids to treat others nicely and be thoughtful of others situations I would recommend this book for younger readers because they would love the bright colors and illustrations they are really cute and also there is a strong message of friendship and including others It could be used in many way during a class

A Gluten Free Birthday for Me written by Sue Fliess and illustrated by Jennifer E Morris is a cute story about a young girl’s birthday party This birthday party is just like any little girl’s birthday party They do relay races face painting eat cake and open presents However the cake at this birthday party is not just any regular cake but it is a gluten free cake The little girl is allergic to gluten so her mother and her make a special cake for her party However her guests were unaware of this and one of the little boys at the party who is also allergic to gluten became upset when it was time to eat cake But the little girl comforts him and explains to him that she is allergic to gluten too I personally enjoyed this children’s book Although most kids are not allergic to gluten the theme focused on friendship allowing kids to relate to comforting their friends when they are upset And for those kids who only can eat gluten free things this book shows them that they are not the only ones and that they should not be embarrassed about it With each page rhyming it kept me wanted to keep reading on Lastly the illustrations of the story went along great with the book and added the touch it needed
