I've been obsessing with the movie for about a year and a half It's one of those movies that just really stuck in the back of my mind ever since watching it when I was a little kid But I was over the moon delighted when I saw that it was a book And by god I love the book than I love the movie though I am so happy that the same scene that endeared me to the movie is also in the book I haven't seen the movie since watching it as a child but the book was so good that I don't want to ruin it although I have a feeling that won't happenThis book's original title The Grizzly King is actually what made me love this book all the The grizzly bear is indeed the king of the northern wild and to have a baby black bear following him around well that's just too darn adorable I couldn't pass up the chance to see how this story really played out Imagine my surprise to actually have tears welling up by the end such a lovely little story but also emotional attachment aside it maintained it's naturalness Bears are predators they kill to survive and to protect their own And men hunt these creatures because we're terrible creatures in our own rightI loved that Langdon who was so dead set on getting the Grizzly King aptly named Thor in the beginning of the book had a complete change of heart by the end He no longer wanted to be a killer he protected Thor from his fellow hunters and even shot his own dogs He also let Muskwa the baby bear free although I loved seeing that Muskwa had developed an attachment to Langdon and wanted him to come back That little baby bear waited for several days for his human companion But eventually Muskwa found Thor and became wild once again
